Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, planners etc. to determine the specifications of the project
• Permit applications with Utilities (Hydro), City of Brandon and Provincial Departments
• Obtain utility locates
• Site surveying as required for building layouts, elevations, site layout, utilities, lot grading and recording asbuilt information.
• Work closely with landscapers and project managers as required for on site surveying
• Apply for curb deposit refunds with City of Brandon and coordinate as required
• AutoCAD drawing of site plans, building structures and lot grading
• Document on site progress of development, while confirming correct locations and elevations
• Weekly reports to management of on site progress
• Creating and maintaining schedule of development progress (infrastructure, earthworks, hydro, paving and concrete)
• Be efficient in survey work in terms of layout, as-builts, and GPS work
• Drone work and Auto-CAD work

 Skills & Competencies

• Work experience in construction is an asset.
• Ability to read blueprints and plan sets
• Strong knowledge of construction infrastructure materials, processes and equipment
• Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Outstanding negotiation skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Team player with leadership abilities
• Knowledge of construction/estimating software an asset
• Knowledge of MS Office
• Critical thinker and problem solver, with ability to perform under pressure of deadlines.
• Driver’s Licence required

Education & Training

• Experience in Surveying an asset
• Education in Civil Tech. an asset
