Position: Flooring Sales Associate
Hours: Full-time
Wage: TBD
Start Date: Immediately
Job duties:
- Organize sales/consultation appointments, demonstrate/present products, conduct job estimates & flooring take-offs based on floor plans/measurements, and negotiate sales contracts for contractors and retail customers
- Place orders with vendors, record/track on Bistrack and receive product
- Maintain accurate orders, files and client records
- Scheduling work with trades and clients
- Maintain the showroom including ensuring samples are relevant and up-to-date
- Meet monthly/annual sales targets
- Establishing new business by conducting cold calling and local households/business visits to maintain existing relationships & to promote new market development
- Assist managers with sales and day-to-day operational needs, cross train across departments and actively engage in store promotions.
- Adhere to company loss prevention program.
Requirements:
- Exceptional customer service skills with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a sales/design/new homes/renovations market at a retail setting
- Valid class 5 driver’s licence
- Experience in residential/commercial flooring sales/installs and knowledge of flooring products; an asset
- Building construction experience/knowledge; an asset
- Post-secondary education in a relevant area (business, sales, design); an asset
- Ability to travel & work rotating weekend shifts
- Excellent with computers including MS office with ability to learn new software
- Basic understanding of blueprints and mathematical skills
- Reliable, energetic, outgoing individual with initiative and drive
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work in a collaborative setting
- Adaptable to change and committed to continuous training and development
- Requires full range of body motion including standing, twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to use hands, arms and legs to physically lift and move items including 50-75lbs
