Position Description

Reporting to the General Manager, the Commercial Project Manager is responsible for bidding and managing commercial construction projects.

Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Construction estimation and project management
  • Experience managing people
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Proven ability to schedule others (trades, employees)
  • Self-starter personality with the ability to accept and adapt to a changing environment
  • Ability to use software and Office 365 to assist in tasks and management
  • Valid class 5 driver’s licence

 

Job Duties

  • Review projects for tender and prepare estimate, tender documents and submit
  • Create Project Schedules and update throughout project
  • Maintain construction documents and drawings including change order management and process accordingly
  • Material estimation for all construction materials associated with project
  • Prepare submittals and review/stamp supplier and vendor submittals
  • Work closely with the Site Supervisor assigned to the project, assist where needed in – ordering materials as required, managing Sub Contractors/site staff, scheduling inspections and testing with proper authorities/consultants/testing firms.
  • Communicate with site supervisors/contractors/superiors/owners on all aspects of the project
  • Manage project budget, review/approve overages

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Brandon, MB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

 

Experience:

  • Construction estimating: 3 years experience (preferred)
  • Project management: 3 years experience (preferred)

 

Licence/Certification:

  • Class 5 Licence (required)
