Position Description:  Reporting to the General Manager, the Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing assigned construction projects.

Skills, Abilities, & Experience

• Experience managing people
• Demonstrate the ability to apply modern project management concepts to daily work
• Proven ability to schedule others (trades, employees)
• Self-starter personality with the ability to accept and adapt to a changing environment
• Exceptional communication skills
• Ability to use innovative technology in construction management
• Valid class 5 drivers licence
• Capable of lifting and moving merchandise of 50-75lbs for up to 8 hours per shift and, able to perform physical labour for extended periods of time in temperature extremes

Job Duties

• Development of the project schedule and ensure it is being met during construction
• Review/develop the project plans/blueprints with consultants and owners
• Work closely with centralized team for estimating and product delivery
• Manage sub contractors/site staff
• Schedule inspections and testing with proper authorities/consultants/testing firms
• Problem solving during construction
• Communicate with site supervisors/contractors/superiors/owners on all aspects of the project
• Expedite/track all change orders
• Manage project budget, review/approve overages
• Responsible for site safety, ensuring all trades are meeting Occupational Health and Safety regulations
• Attend municipal meetings with ownership as needed
